Tokyo Seishin.
Originally designed for performance in hollow, more powerful types of waves, the Samurai was proven to be great for reef breaks, shore dumps and also excellent in point waves, sadly it struggled in the less powerful UK surf though.
Our mission was to capture the essence of this ultimate travel board & make it into a board that could also deliver when you came back home.
Based on our Samurai, The Seishin outline is more refined: It still has the wide point pushed forward of centre, but the nose area is kept lower and the tail slightly pulled in to help tuck into a tighter curve.
The thickness is also pushed forward, which helps even more with getting you into waves easily, and we kept the tail and rails thinned out to help hold through barrels and turns at speed.
The rocker is fairly low through the front half to get you into waves easily and pick up speed quickly. The rear has more rocker aiding turning and control giving fast snappy response. A single concave runs into a double with a slight V off the tail, this sheds water fast & assists rail to rail surfing.
The Seishin’s combination of rocker and concave makes for high performance handling whilst offering sensitivity and control.
Stock boards are thruster set up, 5 fin set up is available on a custom order.
We highly recommend Blackstix or Generation series fins.
The Seishin is now a very user friendly template, we suggest you ride it one palm width taller than your height, I’m 5’10” & my palm is 31/2” so I’d look around the 6’2” mark.
